This is a fully carved double bass, with extremely high quality flamed maple ribs, back and neck, with a carved spruce top. The fingerboard is ebony and is very straight.
This bass is very easy to play and projects well in all registers.
I have used this bass on many professional engagements, including concerts with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra and Ron Paley Big Band. Also, it was rented out to a number of visiting artists for the 2008 Winnipeg Jazz Festival, many of who commented favourably on this instrument.
Currently strung with Tomastik Spirocore strings. Includes Realist pickup and a nearly new Ritter bass bag.
This would be a great bass for an advancing student or professional.
