- Carefully examine the surface and make sure it fits together.
- Clean both sides with acetone and let it dry.
- Remove nut.
- Find a way to clamp the broken pieces without glue.
- Prepare epoxy glue according to the product's instructions. I suggest using “5 min epoxy” and test the glue to make sure it sets properly.
- Apply a small amount of glue on both sides and clamp the broken pieces together.
- Drill 2 holes as shown on the picture with out going through and thread them. (a special long type of screw threader might be needed).
- Make special screws from threaded rod and try to insert them with a screwdriver. They must go in very easily and hide just below nut.
- Take them out, apply a small amount of epoxy glue inside the holes and on the thread of the screws, and screw them back in.
- Clean and glue back the nut.
- This method does NOT guaranty 100% success but it has worked for me most of the time.
